RATP Dev, a subsidiary of the RATP Group, ensures the operation and maintenance of urban and interurban transport networks in 12 countries through over 110 subsidiaries. RATP Dev is in advanced discussion with the Cairo transportation authorities to take over line 3 and its future extensions.
Currently line 3 has 9 stations spread over 15 km. The line opened in 2012 with Kinki Sharyo trains and will eventually welcome a total of 34 stations spread over 41 km with additional Rotem trains.

In Cairo, we are setting up the team to operate and maintain the existing metro system with a two-year improvement plan within an overall 15 year contract.

About the job

Reporting to the General Manager, the Maintenance Director will play a key role in the maintenance of the technical assets (Rolling Stock, Signaling, Telecom, Fare collection, Power Supply, Track work, etc.) necessary to operate the Cairo Metro. The Director is a member of the Executive Committee.

Organization

 Implement the RATP Dev Maintenance model using new technology and best practices such as condition based maintenance and predictive maintenance;
 Implement robust processes across the operations and maintenance activities, with emphasis on safety and quality;
 Optimize and improve maintenance processes;
 Guarantee safety for passengers and employees all over the network and provide the highest level of performance for the benefits of the clients.

Human Resources

 Setup and structure the Maintenance team (currently +180 people) and provide clear leadership and directions;
 Assess the existing resources and ramp up the Maintenance team in order to prepare for the various extensions (participation in the recruitment, training, qualify resources to maintain the assets etc.);
 Ensure that lean management and relevant leadership practices are displayed in all the area of activities.

Finance and Management

 Responsible for delivering cost efficient successful maintenance;
 Manage all stakeholders and consultants intervening in her/his area of activities;
 Ensures proper technical data collection and corresponding analysis for optimization;
 Manage the reporting of the KPI and its communication to the General Manager and external stakeholders.

Benefits & how to apply

 A registered qualified engineer with 15 years' experience in maintenance, including 10 years in an executive position in public transportation.
 Fluency in English and Arabic is a must (written and spoken); French is a plus;
 Proven and successful experience in resources management;
 Demonstrates high standards of leadership and integrity in technical and commercial matters;
 Proven ability of situational analysis and problem solving;
 Able to work with autonomy and initiative;
 Strong interpersonal aptitudes and team management ability.
