RATP Dev is in advanced discussion with the Cairo transportation authorities to take over line 3 and its future extensions.
Currently line 3 has 9 stations spread over 15 km. The line opened in 2012 with Kinki Sharyo trains and will eventually welcome a total of 34 stations spread over 41 km with additional Rotem trains.

In Cairo, we are setting up the team to operate and maintain the existing metro system with a two-year improvement plan within an overall 15 year contract.

About the job

Reporting to the General Manager and working closely with all the directors, the Safety and QHSE Director reviews and interprets current and future QHSE demands in connection with business requirements and pending legislation and produce an Annual Health Safety Environment and Quality Plan (HSQEP). The Director is a member of the Executive Committee.

Requirements

Risk and Safety Management

 Lead, motivate and reward the QHSE Directorate to deliver the Plan, develop the customer service culture and meet and continuously improve specified KPI targets within the Plan in accordance with the Annual Budget;
 Establish and oversee the process for incident and accident reporting and investigation and ensure recommendations are incorporated into the IMS and the Principal Risk Register;
 Develop, maintain and continuously improve management systems based on the risk assessment
 Lead event analyses and investigations;
 Define and propose action plans following continuous improvement principles;
 Report all QHSE events identified (non-conformities or compliances, hazards and risk, dangerous occurrences and near-misses, incidents and accidents);
 Carry out regular safety tours and inspections.

External relations

 Coordinate certification processes with relevant external bodies;
 Establish the process for accident and incident reporting and investigation;
 Comply with certifications and obtain certifications within defined timeline;
 Represent when meeting stakeholders and develop an excellent relationship with the Client, Customers and Community in order to enhance reputation and to foster a partnership approach to relationships.

Benefits & how to apply

 15 years' experience in Rail Safety Management with a strong knowledge in British standards;
 Fluency in English and Arabic is a must;
 Highly motivated and flexibility to work in a time-sensitive environment to respond quickly and effectively to unanticipated high workloads, events and emergencies;
 Training & communication experience, high degree of interpersonal communication skills and leadership, proven ability to influence even at senior management level;
 Proven ability of situational analysis and problem solving;
 Able to work with autonomy and initiative;
 Strong interpersonal aptitudes and team management ability.
