Contexte

RATP DEV, a subsidiary of the RATP Group, operates and maintains urban and interurban transport networks in 15 countries through over 100 subsidiaries. The Bombela Operating Company (BOC) operates the Gautrain line connecting Pretoria and Johannesburg in South Africa (70 km, 10 stations), and offers a dense network of buses and car parks near the railway stations. Since 2010, the Gautrain has met the highest international standards in terms of safety, regularity, reliability and comfort offered to travellers.

Missions

Ensure that strategies and plans are developed to meet all divisional safety objectives and continually improve the safety standards.
Ensure all operating safety rules are developed and respected; alert the Transport Manager of any safety issues.

Responsabilités et activités

Following are the missions identified for the V.I.E:
 Create a data base for all level 1 investigations, BOIs, Internal and External Audits and IOD recommendations
 Follow-up on implementation of recommendations on a weekly basis
 Create a data base for Safety Operating Irregularity's (SPADs, Platform overruns etc.)
 Monitor number of task observations and deviations recorded on task observations and implementation of corrective actions
 Enhance the task observation and the way they are done to reach the target
 Create a data basis to ensure competency of all safety critical and safety related staff (Training, Medicals and refresher)
 Document new projects and initiatives and perform regular follow-up until completion
 Organise safety culture meetings with all supervisors with benchmark with other railway networks.
 Perform trend analysis on all above
 Provide a detailed monthly report
 Play an active role in investigations and producing level 1 and 2 reports
 Play an active role in the Operating Safety team

Expériences et compétences requises

 Specialist with a Technical background
 Strong intercultural background
 General technical knowledge
 Ability to communicate with staff of all levels
 Knowledge of General Railway Operations will be an advantage
 Knowledge of Transport principles
 Computer literate (Advanced)
 Fluent in English
 Possess analytical and critical ability
 Possess leadership quality
 Innovative, creative and strategic thinking
 Problem solving ability

 Contract : V.I.E (Volontariat international en entreprise), open for EU and EEA countries' nationals under 28 years old
 Location : Midrand
 Duration : 24 months
 Start date : 1st of October or November 2019
 Compensation according to Business France
