We are currently seeking an Engineering Systems Manager to join our Melbourne team!
About the Role:
This role will be responsible for establishing and ensuring a seamless transition into the new Engineering Management Systems Framework (EMSF) and is critical in ensuring a seamless and efficient engineering assurance process throughout the project lifecycle. Your responsibilities may include:
- Establishing and leading an effective Engineering Systems Team within the Operator Engineering Authority.
- Ensuring operator-focused assumptions around reliability and performance are maintained throughout project delivery.
- Developing and maintaining the Engineering Management Systems Framework (EMSF), along with supporting standards, procedures, manuals, and templates.
- Aligning the EMSF with broader safety management strategies and securing necessary project approvals.
- Overseeing EMSF coverage during the design, manufacturing, and construction phases.
- Leading engineering assurance forums such as the Change Control Board (CCB) and Engineering Review Committee (ERC).
- Managing and auditing Authorized Delivery Organizations (ADOs), including oversight of their competency systems and compliance with relevant safety legislation.
- Handling concessions to standards, implementing changes, and updating engineering standards as needed.
- Managing applications for Type Approval.
- Contributing to the development of project-wide management plans.
- Staying up to date with emerging trends, technologies, and regulatory developments, ensuring proactive compliance and adaptation.
- Providing expert technical guidance throughout all stages of the project lifecycle.
Profile
- Master’s degree or Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience (7 to 10 years) in developing engineering management frameworks in Australian railway projects as well as the implementation of Assured Delivery Organization (ADO) frameworks
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Certification or training in relevant system technologies or methodologies preferred
- Experience with project management methodologies and tools
- A track record of successfully delivering complex system projects on time and within budget
