MISSIONS

Under the supervision of the Business Development Director, the VIE Rail Systems & Fixed Infrastructure Engineer will support tender preparation and bid activities for urban and regional rail projects (Metro, Tramway and Regional Rail).

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the engineering team in preparing technical inputs for urban and regional rail projects (Metro, Tram, Regional Rail).
  • Assist in the collection and analysis of technical data related to railway systems and fixed infrastructure (track, stations, depots, civil works).
  • Help prepare technical documentation, drawings, and compliance matrices for tender submissions.
  • Support the team in reviewing system interfaces and identifying potential technical issues
  • Contribute to the consistency and quality of technical content in proposals and studies.
  • Participate in internal technical meetings and workshops, taking notes and following up on action items.
  • Learn and apply RATP Dev engineering standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Support coordination with other workstreams (Operations, Finance, HR, Legal) as required.

VIE CONDITIONS

To become a Volontaire International en Entreprise (V.I.E.), make sure you meet the following criteria:

  • Be at least 18 years old and have not yet celebrated your 29th birthday: you must be 28 at the time of your departure on assignment,
  • Be of French nationality or a citizen of a European Economic Area country.
  • If you are of French nationality or dual nationality, attended France's national service obligations (Numéro Identifiant Défense).
  • Have a clean criminal record.
  • Be able to devote 100% of your time to the assignment: no part-time work, entrepreneurship, studies, or income-generating activities are possible in parallel with your V.I.E. assignment.
  • No previous work employment in Dubai

Profile

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED


  • Engineering degree (Master’s level) in one of the following disciplines  :

- Railway Engineering

- Systems Engineering

- Civil Engineering

- Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

 

  • First professional experience or strong academic background in:

- Railway systems (metro, tram, regional rail)

- Fixed infrastructure is required; operational exposure is a plus

 

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Basic understanding or initial experience with railway systems and their interfaces
  • Knowledge of fixed infrastructure components (track, civil works, stations, depots)
  • Experience or familiarity with rolling stock (MRF) would be an appreciated asset.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and system architectures
  • Familiarity with systems engineering principles is an advantage

 

LANGUAGES
  • Fluent English mandatory (working language)
  • French fluent
  • Arabic is a plus
